Bookkeeper (Accountant)

We are seeking trustworthy candidates who can work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy. Accountants can expect to work with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer and verbal and written communication skills.

To ensure success, Accountants should be prompt, honest detail-oriented, professional, and analytical. Top candidates will have excellent presentation skills with the ability to successfully communicate complex quantitative data to decision makers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bank Reconciliations, Petty Cash Reconciliations, Credit Card Reconciliations, Loan Reconciliations, GeneralLedger Maintenance and Bookkeeping.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Daily data entry of purchases and sales invoices
  • Debtors and creditors management and reconciliation
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and reports
  • Processing of weekly/fortnightly/monthly Payroll
  • Processing superannuation payments
  • Preparation of quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS’s)
  • Preparation of monthly Instalment Activity Statements (IAS’s)
  • Preparation and lodgment of Annual Payment Summaries and other Annual Tax Reports
  • Completes other accounting/bookkeeping tasks as needed.

Job Qualifications

Technical:

  • Australian work background.
  • Minimum of 1 year bookkeeping/accounting experience. Preference will be given to applicants with Experience using Xero, MYOB and QBO (Xero preferred)
  • Experience and competency working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with relevant computer systems
  • Must be keen to learn and develop their computer skills
  • Experience in trial balances and journal entries preparation
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Particularly good in verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Self-directed with an ability to learn a systematic approach to accounting and to follow the approach without direction to maintain the integrity of the financial data.
  • Highly motivated with an ability to solve practical problems and follow written, verbal or other instructions with several concrete variables.
  • Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively.

Educational/Licenses:

Certified Public Accountant, an advantage; Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or any related
course
